Six Metals are in the Platinum Group of Metals (also known as PGM):

• Platinum
• Iridium
• Palladium
• Ruthenium
• Rhodium
• Osmium

Platinum Content is shown as the amount of Platinum in Parts Per Thousand (PPT). Jewelry that is at least 950 PPT of pure platinum can be marked as Platinum. Jewelry that contains 950, 900, or 850 PPT of pure platinum can be marked Plat or Pt. These items must have a number in front of them to show the amount of pure platinum they contain.

Jewelry that has at least 950 PPT of platinum group metals with at least 500 PPT of pure platinum can be marked as Platinum. The numbers of each metal must be shown in this case.
